In August 2012 I followed a medieval route in Catalunya and the neighbouring part of France. I visited the following towns and villages: Girona, Castelló d'Empúries, Vilabertran, Perelada & Carcassonne. I also made a diversion to the canals of Empuriabrava and the natural park of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà.
I took hundreds of photographs, some of which you can see here on the right.
I saw many wonderful places and I came to know many interesting stories.
Enjoy them!

San Juan de Plan 2010
I was in San Juan de Plan (Huesca) with my family in August 2010. It was there that my niece started to walk. Rubén and I made some excursions to the mountains (Basa de la Mora & Colladeta de Plan, & Ibón del Sen). We were able to see spectacular countryside. The walking was often very hard but it was worth every minute. You will find some photographs of these excursions on the right hand side of this blog.
Enjoy them!

Escartín - July 2008
I was finally able to visit Escartín (Huesca) in July 2008.
This is an abandoned village whose name coincides with the surname of one of my great-great-grandfathers: Jorge Escartín Puértolas. However, although some distant relatives lived there, Jorge himself did not.
Escartín sits at 1320m. The countryside is wonderful and I have uploaded photos, which you can see on the right hand side of this blog.
Enjoy them!
